1. Read and re-read the Psalm
2. Identify parallelisms

3. Identify acrostics in the original Hebrew
4. Identify figures of speech
   • Simile Psa42:1

   • Hyperbole Psa42:3
   • Personification/zoomorphism Isa44:23
   • Cause and effects
   • Apostrophe Ps2:10
   • Irony Amo4:4

A. Grasp the text in its context to its biblical audience using the above identifications

B. Understand the differences between the biblical audience and us

C. Identify the theological concept and biblical principle

D. Fit the theological concept or principle to rest of the bible, identifying modification or qualification

E. Meditate on how to apply the concept or principle to our modern day life
